This soil blend features a mixture of peat moss, perlite, pine bark, charcoal, sand, and lime, a great combination of all natural ingredients that provide a rich growing environment allowing for fast water drainage and appropriate growing conditions for Anthurium Plants. Peat moss is used for its great water and nutrient retention abilities. It is also a good source of organic matter that will slowly degrade over time to feed your soil. Pine bark also provides water retention, drainage, and aeration capabilities. Horticultural charcoal boosts soil preservation, filters harmful substances, and improves drainage. Perlite is porous and has great moisture retention and drainage capabilities. It also provides aeration to roots. Sand is used in potting mixtures to prevent compaction, loosen up soil, promote drainage, and increase aeration to roots. Lime is used in soil mixtures to provide pH balance.Tips: Make sure your pot has drainage holes. Keep your plant away from direct sunlight. Anthuriums like humidity, mist every day for best results.

Wonderful and short introduction to plate tectonics for those with little background in Earth science or mathematics
Format: Paperback
Molnar does an excellent job explaining key elements of plate tectonics. His book is understandable even for those with little background in geology or geophysics. Molnar, an expert on mountain building, nicely explains how collisions of plates with continents atop cause mountain belts to form. He also questions the limitations of plate tectonics in explaining formation of such mountains. Understanding Molnar's very short book requires little mathematics. An ideal text for college science courses for non-science majors, and for those who want to understand the evolution of Earth's geological features and phenomena.

Easy to read
Format: Paperback
The book was an easy to read discussion of plate tectonics. The technical terms were easily understood and presented in an interest manner. Technically sound and entertaining is a winning combination for a science book! I wold recommend this book to anyone interested in the topic but is not a scientist in the field.
